What is the Cambridge Dementia Course?
The Cambridge Dementia Course, held in Cambridge UK, is designed to give an understanding of the diagnosis and management of patients with dementia and covers Alzheimer's Disease, Frontotemporal Dementia, Lewy Body Dementia, Prion Disease and rarer forms of Dementia.
Who is the course for?
The Cambridge Dementia Course is aimed at specialist registrars and newly appointed consultants in Care of the Elderly Psychiatry, Neurology, Psychiatry, Neuropsychology and Care of the Elderly Medicine but other professionals are welcome to apply.

When and Where is the Cambridge Dementia Course?
The 7th Cambridge Dementia Course will take place from 5th to 7th December 2012 at Homerton College, Cambridge (UK).
The course this year is three days. The first day covers more basic subjects such as history taking and short cognitive tests. Days 2 and 3 are more advanced. Places can be booked for one, two or three days.
Bookings will be accepted from the beginning of June 2012. Approximately 80 places are available,
and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
Teaching at the Cambridge Dementia Course
The teaching is a mixture of lectures, workshops and video sessions, covering subjects such as history taking, examination, bedside cognitive testing, formal cognitive testing and investigations. There will also be specific sessions covering Alzheimer's disease, frontotemporal dementia, dementia with Lewy Bodies and rare forms of dementia.

The course is run by Dr Jeremy Brown, Dr Andrew Graham and Dr Peter Nestor, Consultants in the Memory Clinic at Addenbrooke's Hospital. As in previous successful courses the course will be taught mainly by consultants in the Cambridge memory clinic plus Professor Hodges and other invited speakers. A number of adjustments have been made accommodating feedback from the last courses.
